In the family of Manhattan Pizza, first it was Nick’s Pizzeria. Then came Patsy’s and after that, Angelo’s. Now, it is Dean’s! Handed down generation after generation, the menus at Dean’s feature classic recipes including Old New York style pizza, featuring a thin crust, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil with sauce made daily.
Beyond pizza and salad, the variety of appetizers, entrees and specialty cocktails separate this restaurant from its pizzeria brothers and sisters. In particular, the Veal Marsala, with its high-quality, tender veal and sauce made-to-order, is among the favorites. Also, the cannoli, made from fresh ricotta cheese, as well as the tiramisu which is made from Italian-imported mascarpone, are not to be missed! Mangia!
Pizza—Featuring fifteen different toppings in two different sizes: large or small
Insalata Siciliana—Green salad with mozzarella, black olives, capers, tomatoes, roasted peppers, carrots, anchovies, and artichokes with homemade Italian dressing
Penne alla Vodka—Penne in cream and tomato sauce with vodka and pancetta
Penne Bolognese—Penne with homemade zesty meat sauce
Pappardelle alla Toscanese—Fresh wide ribbon pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, wild mushrooms, marsala wine, aged parmigiano and pecorino cheese in a cream sauce

Deans has picked up their game in the last year or so. Pizza is *consistently* great, entrees are a good value and the delivery guys are fast and nice. The square pizza is basically delicious art. Whenever I'm not sure where to order from, I always end up with this place. Important to also note that these guys are mindful of the neighborhood by not having their bicycle deliverymen bomb through red lights and down sidewalks. Good stuff.

Great food, but with the recent price increases it is a complete rip-off. Seriously, almost $15 for a tiny (individual) portion of baked ziti? Just pasta with sauce and cheese?

In house, pizza is pretty good. Second delivery we've had and not worth the price. The first delivery arrived 45 minutes after order and lukewarm. Just edible. Must've been hungry as hell. Second delivery was so terrible that after one slice we tried giving it to the dog who winced and dropped his ears as if being corrected. This delivery was unequivocally the worst pizza ever. First, the bloated delivery time was over an hour. Second, pizza arrived cold and jostled about the box. Third, the sauce was scarce. Fourth, the crust was hard and dry. Overall, not a very enjoyable pizza-eating experience, for us or the dog. We went out for burgers instead...Order at your own risk. You have been duly warned.

Food is always awesome! The prices are not and therefore lowered my rating from 5 stars to 3.

Excellent pizza.

Really like the pizza but really, the size is small compared to the price!

We love the square pizza. The corner crust is delicious! We also like the round pizza, the Siciliana salad and some of the pasta and parmigian dishes. I sometimes think the portions on the family style orders are a little small, but Dean's is one of our "go-to" pizza places.

Great pizza, if a bit salty. We are fans of the traditional square pizza.

I LOVE the pizza here! And the side of spaghetti and meatballs makes for a great addition to the pie! Reminds me of Patsys or Johns.

Deans has excellent food all around. The square pizza is great for groups. And for 2 people the old fashion small round and individual caesar are perfect. Pepperoni and Sausage are a must for toppings. And the penne with vodka sauce is one of the best I've ever had.

I've ordered from Deans Pizzeria a couple of times now, and their food is consistently good and always arrives hot. My favorite item is the penne a la vodka: the pasta is cooked perfectly, and the sauce is always not too sweet and not too savory and has just the right amount of cream. There are a couple of reasons, however, why I might not be ordering from Deans Pizzeria in the future: the prices are high for what you get (no bread, no utensils, and long wait), and their desserts are typically disappointing in taste and value. Such a shame because their dinners are delicious!

the linguine was good first time i ordered it, but this time, not so good, maybe because i ordered the family portion, it was not as tasty ( less sauce) and not as much stuff in it besides linguine

Really inconsistent. Last time, my pizza had a rock hard crust/dough with the tiniest amount of toppings you could imagine. Seriously, Deans, one piece of Broccolli on a slice is not enough.

the sausage ricotta pizza is amazing

Decent pizza. Delivery took 30 mins, after they advertised 60-75. Ordered an old school round NY pie. It was actually not that large, a disappointment at $17. I thought the pie would feature 8 luscious triangles of cheese and sauce tip to crust. But I essentially got a margarita pizza with a lot of sauce and a few blobs of mozzarella cheese here and there. Definitely not old school, at least where I come from.

I ordered one square pizza and a caesar salad on a drizzly Monday night, and Seamless Web said it should take "30-45 minutes". I called after 45 minutes, and they told me it would be five more minutes. I called 15 minutes later and they said another five. The pizza finally arrived after 1 hour and 15 minutes, and it was ice cold! Keep in mind that my apartment is TWO blocks from them. I called to complain and they said it was busy with the rain. (It was barely raining.) I rolled my eyes and politely told them that the rain isn't really my problem: "All I'm asking for is a hot pizza." They agreed to send me another pizza, and it arrived in about 10 minutes. Having said all that, the pizza does taste very good. I haven't tried the round one, but the square one is thicker than expected, like a thin Sicilian.

The food here is usually good, but I was disappointed with my last order. The portion sizes have been getting smaller so the food is not really worth the price.

last night was the second time we ordered pizza from Dean's. It was the last time we order from them as well. In both times the delivery took mote than 50 minutes to arrive and the pizza was cold. the first time we ordered, we also ordered pasta, which is really unedible when it's cold, and you can't really heat it... No more Dean's take out for us. btw, after we heated the pizza, it was tasty (though they were really cheap with the topings).

Some terrific pasta dishes. I can vouch for the Calamari Fritti, Pasta Fagioli Soup and Penne Alle Vodka. Very well packaged for delivery, including bread. I will miss this place as I move out of the delivery area.
